Week 10

The second assessment is approaching, we started to thing adout the concept of 2d video.

The task: 30 sec add for chocolate

details:
- every frame should be perfect
- backshoot in the end
- create product, slogan etc...

Ideas:
1 dirty mouth, childish look - camera mooves away - it is adult eating chocolate
2 man sitting on a big chair eating chocolate. Down - little girl watching and wanting the chocolate.

Week 9

by the week 9 we had to bring our video materials, edit them and complete a nice finished video.

Apparently I made a mistake when shooting: in some scenes Alex had a heat on her head, in some not, thus I have got a problem to cut the video: she cannot apper one second with a heat, another without, and again. However some video effects have helped me a lot to cover this mistake.

The editing was fun and interesting, even though I have got tired, it was an experience I really appriciate and like.

I used a nice music for the video: 'in the jungles' song from the Lion King, and in the end many people found the thing entertaining)

I used several effects and appropriate fonts for the sake of integrity. And played around with speed in some parts to make the funniest parts expressive.

Week 8

It was the week when we had to shoot video materials for individual assignment.
Me Irina, Alex and Dmitry agreed to meet in a park to implement our ideas.
For my video I had to buy flowers and potted plants on the way. I was ready to leave my appartment when I have occasionally looked at the wall in my room.
I have to mention, that the last semester we had sculpture lesson and I have got 3 papier-mâché mask as a memory, and put it on the wall.
the masks are 2 african looking and one funny white face, supposedly of a transsexyal.
"what a nice contast!" - broke out in my head. "why wouldn't I make a video, the idea seem funnier that the current one!"
I have picked the mask and left. The idea of the plot came on the way, and in addition was polished and improved with help of my dear friends.

The shooting was fun, we laughted a lot.

week 7

Time to submit the video was approaching so we started to make story board for our videos.
I had a creativity crisis, however in the end have got a nice idea. The contract broken heard vs love and happiness.

Week 5-6

we was told that our individual assignment is approaching and that we have to start thinking about the concept for a 30 sec video. the topic was - contast in any way.

The teacher showed us a professional camera and for the rest of the lesson we was messing around with its functions.

Week 4

On the week lesson we was discussing different kinds of videos. The teacher showed the music videos he have created for a hungarian band. I liked them a lot, they contained certain ideas and was beautifully made.

As well the teacher told about Dogma group.
It is a society of directors from different countries. It's identity is that it has sertain rules the participans should follow, e.g.: no use of artificial scenery, video/sound editing and additional equipment, no titles, no professional actors, the plot should be as much realistic as possible etc.
The idea sounded interesting to me, so I have decided to check it out.

I have read the basic rules and ideology of the group, and watched a movie 'Lovers' by a French director. The story was rather interesting and touching, the quality corresponded to the rules required by the group, however was not too bad. Even though i was very entusiastic about the movie, as I am always interested in underground films, I was not too much delighted.

Week 2-3

during those weeks we was learning how to make a video professionally, what kind of people are involved in the creation, what steps are compulsory to make a video.

Shotly, the plocess includes: getting the idea, writing a proposal (the general discription of the project that is used to get money for the implementation from investors or bank), writing a script (detailed discription of the movie with dialogues) and storyboard (detailed discription with pictures - includes camera movements, music etc, but not dialogues). After the those steps are completed, time to find sources arrives: actors, sites, places, stock etc.

The most interesting part - shooting, longs for only several weeks, surprisingly.
The final part of the project is editing. Nowadays to edit a movie they are using all kinds of software, depending on the difficulty of the movie - from the most difficult programmes to the basic ones, such as Pinacle Studio - the software we are supposed to learn during the semester.

week 1

The first Video Production class was promissing.
We was yold that thrgough out the semester we will learn the basics of the director job and activities, and was told about the future projects we will have to implement.

From the very first week we had to cooperate and to create a video about the BAAM program to motivate and inspire students to come to IBS and stydy Art Management. The plan was to make somethinf similar to Canadian promotion video.
This would include shortcuts of people saying comlements to the university anf the BAAM program in particular.

fort he purpore we discussed and analysed the original video, made a list of words to mention, trained the actor skills for the video, make a script etc,

However we have never finished the plan.
